Oracle - Beware the Batman (2013)

The alter-ego of Barbara Gordon, Oracle was recruited by Katana to be apart a team of vigilantes to help save Alfred Pennyworth from Deathstroke. She was given a domino mask by the older hero, who introduced her to Man-Bat and Metamorpho.

Breaching the Batcave, she recovered Deathstroke’s detonator for the bombs he had placed around the Batcave, using the Batcomputer to narrow down the frequency and track down the explosives. With them all recovered, she sadly admitted that she did not know how to disarm them, watching in shock as Metamorpho used his whole body to absorb the impact.

Following the defeat of Wilson, she officially became a member of "The Outsiders", continuing to fight crime and protect Gotham.

"The Golem of Old Gotham" - Beware the Batmen (2013)

The name given to Rex Mason by the residents of Old Gotham saved by his actions, the Golem of Old Gotham was the protector of the rundown part of the city, fighting those hired by his ex-fiancée Sapphire Stagg to intimidate business owners and acquire their land for commercial property development.

He made his base in the rafters of an abandoned church, playing up to the myth of the namesake Golem, believing it was better to live there than in the sewers where he had originally been forced to hide.

“The Golem” had been active for five days and stopped every attempt made by Stagg’s employees on their criminal acts being carried out against retail owners.

Due to his role as a vigilante, he became the target of Harvey Dent and the S.C.U, leading to members trying to hunt him down. This led to his confrontation with Batman and Katana, who although managed to get away the first time, was revealed to be Mason in the church.

After successfully repelling highly armed criminals and the S.C.U, Rex chose to take up the name Metamorpho, which had been suggested to him by Katana – taking away the painful memories of “Project: Metemorpho” that gave him his powers and using them to benefit Gotham.

Sapphire Stagg - Beware the Batman (2013)

The daughter of Simon Stagg, Sapphire Stagg fell in love with a security guard working at Stagg Industries, unaware of her father’s utter revulsion at the idea of her potentially marrying below her status as a Gotham socialite and heiress to his empire. She loved Rex and would reassure him that she would love him no matter what, wanting to reveal their relationship to Simon.

One evening, she was caught on security footage by her father kissing Mason, which angered Simon so much that he manipulated events to create a lab accident that would kill her partner. She went with him to the hospital, where she would happily thank her father for seemingly approving the proposal.
Leaving momentarily, she would be knocked down by the door as Mason’s body was physically altered by the experimental chemicals of Project: Metamorpho he had been exposed. She was quickly able to realise it was him, however, before she could talk to him Mason was shot at by a police officer and forced to flee.

Going back to her apartment, she fell asleep, where Mason would eventually reveal the extent of the damage to her. She would dismiss Batman’s accusations of her father’s involvement as slander, trying to break up the fight between Mason and the Dark Knight, only to be knocked unconscious by an electrical discharge that was being generated to subdue Rex. In his mission to protect her, Mason fled with her into the sewers, where she was kept warm by his powers.

She was taken to Stagg Industries in his mission for revenge against Simon, coming to as Batman and her father exposed him to more of the chemicals, hoping that with a few alterations they would form an antidote. Realising that he could not revert back to his original form, she told Rex that she could not love him, watching with despair as he turned himself into vapour and went up a ventilation duct.
Sapphire angrily berated Batman, rushing to her father’s side to support him from Batman’s continued statements that he was responsible for the “accident”, only to see the incriminating security footage that had been forwarded to the G.C.P.D. She ran off crying, furious and heartbroken at Stagg’s betrayal.

Sometime later, she moved into a new apartment block overlooking an Old Gotham abandoned church, unaware that her ex-fiancée was still alive and still wanting to protect her from harm. However, following in the footsteps of her father and taking over the family company, she hired men to terrorise Old Gotham and run people out, hoping to procure cheap property to renovate and profit from. She provided them with battle suits and weapons but was constantly foiled by “The Golem of Old Gotham”.

Sapphire was challenged by Batman after her latest defeat, mockingly asking him to prove her involvement with the operation. She went on to muse that she was proving her father wrong and was just as good at “business” as he was. Declaring that she was not through, she quickly changed tract, wishing to know if the Golem was in fact, Rex. However, she was shot down by Batman, who told her that if she continued down this path she would guarantee that she would join Simon in prison.
